Reflection:
This syllabus integrates literary theory, comparative history and hermeneutics, along with an interdisciplinary approach to sociology that privileges the Africana Paradigm of scholar-activism. In constructing this syllabus, I attempted to create a document that was accessible and can be used as a teaching tool. Not only is it designed to be a road map to the course, it is also designed to be a tool that students can use to learn the material; as most of the material in the course is alluded to in the syllabus. With this being my latest syllabus, it is unlike any other before it. There are graphics with theories and conceptual frameworks built into the document, that coincide with readings and course/learning objectives.
